When we observe a painting, we often find ourselves either drawn to it or, conversely, repelled by it.
In simple terms, we might express our judgment with words like beautiful or ugly, but in reality, without realizing it, we are reacting to deeper stimuli, linked to an unconscious influence triggered by colors, shapes, and lines.
Every work of art, whether simple or complex, can awaken in us different feelings and moods, which vary depending on how we feel in that particular moment. There is no universal concept of beauty or ugliness, but rather a personal emotional response that depends on the state of mind of the observer.
The lines, strokes, and colors are like keys that, mysteriously, open doors within us that we may not even know exist.
And it would be wonderful if we all learned that, to simplify our lives, there is a hidden magic even in the ugly, because often what initially repels us may hide a deep beauty that only the soul willing to look beyond can discover.
